In 1969 Steen Eiler Rasmussen published Experiencing Architecture. His main objective was to help others experience architecture by means of words. In this dissertation I intend to explore, develop, and provide a system to record and orchestrate this experience in order to help young architecture students sense, understand, and appreciate architecture.

520 $a An architectural experience is by essence an indivisible entity; in order to be recorded it needs to be fragmented, losing its condition of a unitarian whole. In this study, I intend to solve this contradiction by developing the conceptual and instrumental frameworks for a correlated system whose output I have called "Architectural Score."
520 $a The first part of this system is divergent and analytic. By fragmenting an architectural experience into four categories: spatial-temporal events, multi-sensorial impressions, emotional experiences, and logical understandings, provides the conceptual framework for the recording process which relies on twenty architectural concepts and seven recording methods well known within the culture of architecture.
520 $a The second part is convergent and synthetic and orchestrates the recorded fragments into an interrelated whole through the "Architectural Score" which relies on eight concepts and models transposed from literature, film and music. Finally, ten case studies are presented in order to implement and exemplify the Architectural Score.
