This study examines the readiness of four families to receive inmates from prison in Saint Louis, Missouri. It comprises assessing family's relationship, and their ability to support the inmate prior to their release from prison, and reduce ex-offender recidivism. The researcher employed a six-week intervention model to assess the family's preparation. It highlighted challenges that families experienced in supporting ex-offenders, and identified potential barriers. A qualitative research methodology was used to gather data from 37 respondents using interviews and questionnaires. Research concluded that implementing this mentoring model would prepare families to receive inmates from prison.
