A CSEA Practicum.
- 103 p.
Advisers: Duncan RyanMann; Andrew DiNitto.
Thesis (M.A.)--State University of New York Empire State College, 2008.
In fulfillment of the academic requirements of Empire State College, Center For Graduate Programs, Labor & Policy Studies Program, I created, participated in, and completed a Practicum with the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA), Local 1000 American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO), located in Albany New York. This Practicum Final Paper includes a history of CSEA over the past 100 years, a summary of my responsibilities and contributions to CSEA and the history project being conducted by M. E. Grenander Department of Special Collections and Archives, a review of the interviews conducted and an examination of the historical first hand accounts they provided, and a multiple-portion overview and analysis, which examined the theory based text and historical implications that the advent of New York State's Taylor Law had upon the development and evolution of CSEA.
