In the corporate world, over the last decade environmental, social and governance (ESG) and sustainability considerations have moved from the fringe to the mainstream - a shift that has faced significant backlash in certain quarters. At the same time, the global backdrop has become increasingly complex, marked by the accelerating impacts of climate change (e.g. historic floods and wildfires), political polarization, economic uncertainty, wars, and the further erosion of trust in our institutions.
