Thesis (Ph.D.)--The Florida State University, 2022.
The purpose of this paper was to examine the relationship between childhood maltreatment, dysfunctional career thinking (DCT), and career adaptability. The primary goal of this paper was to explore the potential overlap between the long-term impact of childhood maltreatment and the potential link to an individual's dysfunctional career thinking and career adaptability. The present study explored the relationship between childhood maltreatment using the Maltreatment and Abuse Chronology of Exposure (MACE; Teicher & Parigger, 2015), dysfunctional career thinking using the Career Thoughts Inventory (CTI; Sampson et al., 1996a), and career adaptability using the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (Savickas & Pofeli, 2012).
