This dissertation seeks to ground the unique theological features of Cornelius Van Til's Presuppositional Apologetic method in scripture. It examines recent theological interpretations of the book of Ecclesiastes, especially scholars who argue for an apologetic purpose. I propose that reading Ecclesiastes as a transcendental argument within scripture best makes sense of the disparate historical readings, the rhetorical structure of the book, and in turn this exegetically grounds Van Til's method in a more direct way.
