Shame is a powerful and adverse agent of change with the potential to incarcerate the identity and drastically diminish the individual's potential to realize their greatest capacity and purpose. It is a human condition that wreaks emotional havoc on individuals both internally and relationally. From the time shame entered the world, as in the Genesis account of Adam and Eve whilst partaking of forbidden fruit, and through manifestations in the present age, its power and influence continue inflicting emotional turmoil on those it possesses. The presented resource, From Toxicity to Transformation, reviews the existing literature's findings relative to a toxic shame narrative as experienced by victims of sexual abuse, perpetrators of sexual abuse, sexually betrayed partners, and their betraying partners. Resources supplemental to mental health therapy are provided to practicing mental health professionals in response to the findings of the therapeutic influence of spiritual wellness for recovery.
