This dissertation contains three papers on the topics of macroeconomics and housing market. The first chapter quantifies the extent to which the US housing market is racially segmented. The second chapter, co-authored with Terry O'Malley and Fang Yao, studies how household consumption responds to persistent changes to income. The third chapter studies how household borrowing and regional house prices change in response to minimum downpayment and maximum loan-to-income regulations.
