Using the Traditional Sexual Script as a theoretical framework, an autoethnography will explore the trauma of repeated sexual abuses in my life as a young Deaf Latina. These experiences will be analyzed in comparison to the traditional sexual expectations for men and women in the United States and how the Mexican cultural background interacts with the American cultural background with the support or lack of support from family and friends; the impact of this on my life led to new findings regarding Lookism and Colorism. Custer's seven lens will be used to provide trustworthiness. These embody how autoethnography impacts the following: time, vulnerability, empathy, creativity and innovation, boundaries, honors subjectivity, and provides therapeutic benefits. Furthermore, Crit Race Theory (CRT), DeafCrit, along with the LatinxCrit, overlaps with these new findings. It is hoped that this project will help other Latinas resolve their own trauma around sexual assault and discover new peace in their own journey. This journey for me was a therapeutic journey that guided me to some form of peace. It provides new hopes for empowering Deaf Latinos that are out there seeking their voice to find peace.
