How Well Does GDP Per Capita Influence a Society's Well-Being? - 1 online resource (30 pages)

Thesis (M.A.)--California State University, Los Angeles, 2021.
Includes bibliographical references
The relationship between per capita GDP and well-being has been a subject of increasing policy interest. In this thesis, I examined the influence of per capita GDP on well-being. I used a unique set of data spanning two years, drawn from various relevant organizations, such as the World Bank. Using the right empirical tools, I examined whether a change in per capita GDP would result in a linear change in the happiness index. My findings show a positive relationship between the two variables - an increase in per capita GDP will result in an increase in well-being. This result means that per capita GDP does, in fact, influence a society's well-being.
