Current research on sibling relationships has proposed connections to many developmental and psychological outcomes, but there still exists a large gap in sibling research, particularly in regard to adult personality development. The current study (N = 297) utilized the Lifespan Sibling Relationship Scale (LSRS; Riggio, 2000) to measure participants' retrospective ratings of the quality of their sibling relationships and the Levels of Personality Functioning- Self Report (LPFS-SR; Morey 2017) to assess participants' current personality functioning within four "core" elements: Self functioning (Identity and Self Direction) and Interpersonal functioning (Intimacy and Empathy). It was proposed that respondents' rating of their sibling relationship quality would highly correlate with the LPFS-SR's elements of interpersonal functioning. No relationship was found between the retrospective ratings of sibling relationship quality and interpersonal functioning. Limitations of this study and directions for future research are discussed.
