With the consistent concerns about the quality of care that is delivered in nursing homes today, there is a deficit of research on how employee satisfaction plays a role in the type of care being delivered. The purpose of this quantitative descriptive correlation research is to examine the relationship between employee satisfaction and the quality of care among direct care workers and nurses in a rural nursing home. Registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and certified nurse assistants (CNAs) at a rural nursing home in northern Louisiana will be asked to voluntarily fill out three questionnaires. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), Satisfaction of Employees in Health Care (SEHC), and a demographic profile will be utilized to collect data from current employees of a rural nursing home in Northern Louisiana. The Spearman's correlation of the Nursing Home Survey on Patient Safety Culture and Satisfaction of Employees in Healthcare was .949 and the Sig. (two-tailed) was .000 which indicated that there was a relationship between employee satisfaction and quality of care among direct care workers and nurses in a rural nursing home. Correlations are significant at the level of 0.05 and less.
