Cybersecurity is dependent on the security of the supply chain, but it is not sustainable through traditional practices of the supply chain. Many scholars and experts believe that information communication and technology products carry cyber vulnerabilities, which may be intentional or unintentional flaws in a computer system, that are not visible into traditional supply chain practices. These flaws bring challenges into the traditional supply chain making its visibility inadequate to sustaining the integrity of computer hardware and software. The existing literature on cybersecurity or supply chain management does not extend far enough to address how to enhance cybersecurity through the emerging field of cyber-supply chain. The void led many scholars and experts to call on additional studies to standardize concepts. The present study emerged to find a theoretical explanation that establishes how cyber-supply chain supports cybersecurity by producing cyber-supply chain concepts to mitigate cyber vulnerabilities in information communication and technology products. Grounded theory methodology served for data collection and analysis. Participants were recruited among graduate students, staff, and faculties from computer science departments at Old Dominion University and Norfolk State University and had strong opinions about strengthening cybersecurity through the cyber-supply chain. The findings revealed the substantive theory of cyber-supply chain visibility that describes how to safeguard cybersecurity through supply chain management through the conception and development (CONDEV), fulfillment and implementation (FULIMP), and regulation and compliance (RECO) stages. The resulting theory is a three-stage model and paradigm shift from traditional supply chain management. The model necessitates cyber-supply chain managers to conquer interdisciplinary proficiency that assimilates risk assessment from both cybersecurity and supply chain management. This study extended the body of cyber-supply chain knowledge while equally confirming the unsuitability of traditional supply chain visibility models into the management of information communication and technology products. Finally, this study unlocked opportunities for additional research and prompted on the necessity to craft a new academic curriculum that would integrate the principles of Cyber-supply chain visibility to prepare present and future business leaders for challenges ahead.

520 $a La cybersecurite depend de la securite de la chaine d'approvisionnement, mais elle ne peut etre soutenu qu'avec les pratiques traditionnelles de la chaine d'approvisionnement. De nombreux specialistes et experts croient que les produits de communication et de technologie d'information peuvent transporter des vulnerabilites cybernetiques intentionnels ou involontaires dans un systeme informatique qui ne sont pas visibles aux pratiques traditionnelles de la chaine d'approvisionnement. Ces defauts apportent des defis dans la chaine d'approvisionnement traditionnelle, ce qui rend sa visibilite insuffisante pour maintenir l'integrite du materiel informatique et des logiciels. La litterature existante sur la cybersecurite ou la gestion de la chaine d'approvisionnement ne s'etend pas assez loin pour aborder la facon d'ameliorer la cybersecurite dans le domaine emergent de la chaine d'approvisionnement cybernetique. Le vide a conduit de nombreux specialistes et experts a faire appel a des etudes supplementaires pour normaliser les concepts. La presente etude a permis de trouver une explication theorique qui etablit comment la cyber-chaine d'approvisionnement prend en charge la cybersecurite en produisant des concepts de chaine d'approvisionnement cybernetiques pour attenuer les vulnerabilites cybernetiques dans les produits de communication et de technologie de l'information. La methodologie de la theorisation enracinee a ete utilise pour collecter et l'analyser de donnees. Les participants ont ete recrutes parmi les etudiants des cycles superieurs, le personnel et les facultes des departements informatiques de l'Universite Old Dominion et de l'Universite d'Etat de Norfolk et ont eu de fortes opinions sur le renforcement de la cybersecurite a travers la chaine d'approvisionnement informatique. Les resultats ont revele la theorie substantielle de la visibilite de la chaine d'approvisionnement cybernetique qui decrit comment sauvegarder la cybersecurite grace a la gestion de la chaine d'approvisionnement au moyen des etapes de conception et de developpement (CONDEV), de realisation et de mise en oeuvre (FULIMP) et de regulation et de conformite (RECO). La theorie qui en resulte est un modele en trois etapes et un changement de paradigme de la gestion traditionnelle de la chaine d'approvisionnement. Le modele necessite que les gestionnaires de la chaine d'approvisionnement cybernetique conquerant une competence interdisciplinaire qui assimile l'evaluation des risques tant de la cybersecurite que de la gestion de la chaine d'approvisionnement. Cette etude a etendu le savoir-faire de la chaine d'approvisionnement cybernetique tout en confirmant egalement l'inadequation des modeles traditionnels de visibilite de la chaine d'approvisionnement dans la gestion des produits de communication et de technologie de l'information. Enfin, cette etude a debloque les possibilites de recherches supplementaires et a incite a elaborer un nouveau programme academique qui integrerait les principes de la visibilite de la chaine d'approvisionnement Cyber pour preparer les leaders du future.
