The purpose of this project is to demonstrate that covenantal pluralism is an effective theological and philosophical framework for bridging LGBT and faith divides. Through storytelling, dialogue and ethnographic study techniques, the author considers her experiences working to help homeless LGBT youth in Utah and the impact of collaborating across difference to address a seemingly intractable problem. "It wasn't until I was swept up into the practice of covenantal pluralism itself that my heart was healed - and countless lives were saved. What is this concept with such promise?" Covenantal pluralism was conceived in the 1970's by Rabbi Irving Greenberg as he strived to put words to his own experience of preventing another Holocaust by working collaboratively with those who he blamed for the atrocity: Christians. His life-changing experience of encountering someone he thought of as "other", recognizing in them the image of God and his own kin, and then collaborating with his new friends and colleagues to counter antisemitism and save lives created a theological framework that persists to this day in various forms.
