Missionary discipleship in young people is critical for the growth of faith both in young people and across the whole communion of the Church. This doctoral project researched the extent to which giving high school students defined, sustained leadership opportunities as student ministers made their life as missionary disciples grow. It was found that this happens with convincing success. After a year serving in their high school as student ministers, students reported significant growth in the main areas to define missionary discipleship. An organized, systematic approach to facilitating faith leadership for young people should be implemented in all schools and parishes looking to increase missionary discipleship and youth evangelization.
