Holistic mission startups are emerging on the Indian mission field to address new and neglected local needs in the local context. Through a phenomenological study, this research seeks to discover strategies that support these emerging holistic mission startups in India. An integrated theoretical framework that combines the biblical missiology of holistic mission with entrepreneurial decision-making principles, systematic innovation processes and the Indian cultural mindset is used to analyze the data collected through field research. The first phase of this research studies the experience of ten holistic mission innovators who have launched ventures in the twenty-first century and discovers their on the ground decision-making principles. The second phase of this research studies the impact of two different systematic innovation programs and discovers effective strategies to support holistic mission startups. The study then summarizes the critical insights gained through this research into an action plan of strategies that seeks to support emerging holistic mission startups.
