Background: Some of the most pressing challenges facing individuals with mental health conditions (MHCs) involve personal recovery and reducing self and public stigma. This research project focused on 30 integrated arts-based groups run by the nationwide Amitim program, a partnership between the Israel Association of Community Centers and the Ministry of Health. These integrated arts-based groups aim to promote a process of personal recovery and reduce self-stigma in individuals with MHCs (with at least a 40% mental health disability as determined by the National Insurance Institute of Israel), while also reducing the public stigma surrounding mental health on the part of members of the broader community through shared experiences that revolve around artistic creation (e.g., theater, writing, music, poetry, visual arts, etc.) and a structured discourse on mental health issues in general and stigma in particular.Research questions: Four research questions were examined: (1) Do individuals with MHCs and non-clinical individuals from the community attending integrated arts-based groups report greater adaptive changes in outcomes than their counterparts who do not participate in such groups? (2) Which variables mediate the association between participation in integrated arts-based groups and the outcomes? (3) How do in-group factors (group cohesion and participant involvement) impact the outcomes? (4) How do the secondary qualitative findings help explain and interpret the primary quantitative findings?Method: This research project was pre-approved by the university's ethics committee (approval# 287/17) and by the Mental Health Division of the Ministry of Health. A mixed methods sequential explanatory design was used to integrate the quantitative and qualitative findings in two phases. First, quantitative data were collected before and after the program year from four groups of adults: (a) 141 people with MHCs in an integrated group were compared to (b) 127 people with MHCs who did not participate in these groups, and (c) 169 non-clinical community members in integrated groups were compared to (d) 205 non-clinic community members who did not participate in these groups. The quantitative data analysis consisted of descriptive statistics, correlations, and an examination of intergroup differences with Multivariate Analysis of Covariance tests, using SPSS.v26. Mediation analysis was conducted to examine possible mediators using AMOS.v26, with 10,000 bootstrap confidence intervals (BCI). Statistical significance was determined by a p value of .05. The qualitative data collection at the end of the Amitim program's annual activities consisted of five focus groups (singing, music, writing, theater, and playback theater) from 15 integrated arts-based groups. Overall, 38 participants, (17 people with MHCs, and 21 non-clinical community members) chose to participate in the focus groups. The qualitative data analysis consisted of a 6-phase thematic analysis procedure to extract themes that could provide richer descriptions of the change processes according to participants.

520 $a רקע: בין האתגרים הדוחקים ביותר העומדים בפני מתמודדים עם מצבים נפשיים הם שיפור ב החלמה אישית והפחתת סטיגמה עצמית וסטיגמה ציבורית. מחקר זה התמקד ב-30 קבוצות משולבות מבוססות- אומנויות המנוהלות בפריסה ארצית על ידי תוכנית עמיתים, המהווה שותפות בין החברה למתנ"סים ומשרד הבריאות. מטרתן של הקבוצות המשולבות מבוססות האומנויות היא לקדם תהליך של החלמה אישית והפחתת סטיגמה עצמית אצל מתמודדים עם מצבים נפשיים )לפחות %40 נכות נפשית על-פי המוסד לביטוח לאומי (, תוך הפחתת הסטיגמה הציבורית הקשורה לבריאות הנפש מצד חברי קהילה לא-קליניים, זאת באמצעות חוויות משותפות הסובבות סביב יצירה אומנותית )למשל, תיאטרון, כתיבה, מוזיקה, שירה, אומנות ויזואלית וכו'( ושיח מובנה על בריאות הנפש בכלל, וסטיגמה בפרט.שאלות המחקר: נבדקו ארבע שאלות מחקר: )1 )האם מתמודדים עם מצבים נפשיים וחברי קהילה לא -קליניים המשתתפים בקבוצות משולבות מבוססות-אומנויות מדווחים על שינויים אדפטיביים יותר במדדי התוצאה מאשר עמיתיהם שאינם משתתפים בקבוצות אלה? )2 ) אילו משתנים מתווכים את הקשר בין השתתפות בקבוצות המשולבות מבוססות הא ומנויות לבין מדדי התוצאה? )3 )כיצד משפיעים גורמים תוך- קבוצתיים )לכידות קבוצתית ומעורבות משתתף בקבוצה( על התוצאות? )4 )כיצד מסייעים הממצאים האיכותניים לפרשנות ולהבנה של הממצאים הכמותיים?שיטה: פרויקט מחקר זה אושר מראש על ידי ועדת האתיקה של האוניברסיטה )אישור # 17/287 )ועל ידי האגף לבריאות הנפש במשרד הבריאות. נעשה שימוש במערך אורך משולב שיטות )methods mixed )מסוג מחקר מסביר עוקב )sequential explanatory )כדי לשלב את הממצאים הכמותיים והאיכותנ יים בשני שלבים. ראשית, נתונים כמותניים נאספו לפני ואחרי שנת התוכנית מארבע קבוצות של מבוגרים: )א( 141 מתמודדים עם מצבים נפשיים שהשתתפו בקבוצה משולבת הושוו ל- )ב( 127 מתמודדים עם מצבים נפשיים שלא השתתפו בקבוצות אלה, ו- )ג( ( 169 חברי קהילה לא-קליניים שהשתתפו בקבוצות משולבות הושוו ל- )ד( 205 חברי קהילה לא - קליניים שלא השתתפו בקבוצות אלו. ניתוח נתונים כמות ני כלל סטטיסטיקה תיאורית, מתאמים ובחינהשל הבדלים בין קבוצות )Covariance of Analysis Multivariate )באמצעות תוכנת v26.SPSS . ניתוח תיווך נערך על מנת לבחון מתווכים אפשריים באמצעות v26.AMOS,עם 000,10 רווחי סמך )BCI .(רמת המובהקות הסטטיסטית נקבעה על 05.0 < p .ה נתונים ה איכותני ים נאספו בתום הפעילות השנתית של תוכנית עמיתים מ חמש קבוצות מיקוד )שירה, מוזיקה, כתיבה, תיאטרון ותיאטרון פלייבק( מתוך 15 קבוצות משולבות מבוססות -אומנויות. בסך הכול, 38 משתתפים )17 מתמודדים עם מצבים נפשיים ו- 21 חברי קהילה לא-קליניים( בחרו להשתתף בקבוצות המיקוד. ניתוח נתונים איכותני כלל ניתוח תמטי בן שישה שלבים במטרה לחלץ נושאים שיכולים לספק תיאורים עשירים יותר של תהליכי השינוי, על- פי המשתתפים.
