The COVID-19 Pandemic and Russia-Ukraine war affected the worldwide food supply chain network. We conducted a detailed questionnaire survey among consumers of different income levels from the Fargo-Moorhead area of North Dakota to understand the effect of high food prices. Our survey analysis demonstrated that the food price inflation affected both the lower and middle-income level consumers in the United States. Bayesian network was used for the risk analysis of food supply chain networks demonstrated that along with the pandemic and war, transportation and production costs were responsible for high food prices. Overall, this study investigates the risk of pandemic and war related disruptions on food supply chain network and their implication on consumers. The results can be used by researcher, retailers, manufacturers, suppliers, and supply chain managers for demand analysis, developing risk mitigation strategies, analyzing change in food consumption during post-pandemic period and in the times of inflation.
