The following research is a qualitative exploratory case study of a business net changes and development in a context of an innovative international vocational and education training programme. This study employed the explanatory power of network theory and the process approach to address three objectives. The first objective of the study was to identify how business net structure changes as innovation progresses. The second objective was to understand what net actora€™s position/role interaction patterns emerge at each stage of business net development in a service innovation setting. The third objective of the study was to understand what is the nature of business net development in a service innovation setting. The results of this empirical investigation revealed that role-taking and role-making interaction patters emerge with the prevalence of role-taking over role making or role-making over role-taking in different phases of the business net development. The findings also suggested that the changes in the business net development are driven by actorsa€™ shared interactions, common priorities and interests inherent to the contextual nature of the shared logic.
