Bu calismada ilkokul dorduncu sinif Sosyal Bilgiler dersinde mizahi bir unsur olan karikaturlerle desteklenmis Probleme Dayali Ogrenme yonteminin ogrencilerin problem cozme becerilerine yonelik algilarina, Sosyal Bilgiler dersine yonelik tutumlarina ve erisi duzeylerine etkisi tespit edilmeye calisilmistir. Bu amac dogrultusunda denklestirilmemis-esitlenmemis on test-son test kontrol gruplu yari deneysel desen kullanilmistir. Arastirmanin calisma grubunu Istanbul ili, Uskudar ilcesinde yer alan bir ilkokulda ogrenim goren 55 dorduncu sinif ogrencisi olusturmaktadir. Deney grubunda karikatur destekli probleme dayali ogrenme yontemi, kontrol grubunda ise sadece Sosyal Bilgiler Dersi Ogretim Program icerigi ve etkinlikleri uygulanmistir. Deneysel uygulama yedi hafta surmustur. Verilerin toplanmasinda "Kisisel Bilgiler Formu", "Ilkogretim Duzeyindeki Cocuklar Icin Problem Cozme Envanteri", "Tutum Olcegi" ve "Sosyal Bilgiler Dersi Bilim, Teknoloji ve Toplum Ogrenme Alani Basari Testi" kullanilmistir. Olcme araclarindan elde edilen veriler frekans (f), yuzde (%) ve cesitli Non-Parametrik testler kullanilarak analiz edilmistir. Elde edilen bulgular isiginda ilkokul dorduncu sinif Sosyal Bilgiler dersinde karikatur destekli probleme dayali ogrenme programinin ogrencilerin problem cozme becerilerine yonelik algilarini, Sosyal Bilgiler dersine yonelik tutumlarini ve erisi duzeylerini olumlu yonde etkiledigi sonucuna ulasilmistir. Calismadan elde edilen veriler sonucunda arastirma kapsaminda cesitli onerilere yer verilmistir.

520 $a This study attempted determining the impact of the problem-based learning method supported by cartoons, which are humorous elements, in fourth-grade Social Studies course on students' perceptions of their problem-solving skills, their attitudes to the social studies course and their level of achievement. Accordingly, the study is quasiexperimental and has a pre-test post-test unequalled control group design. The study group consists of 55 fourth-grade primary school students receiving education at a primary school located in Uskudar, Istanbul. The cartoon-supported problem-based learning method was applied in the experimental group, whereas the standard Social Studies Curriculum was followed in the control group. The experiment lasted for seven weeks. In the collection of data, 'Personal Information Form', 'Problem-Solving Inventory for Children at the Level of Primary Education (PSIC)', 'Attitude Scale' and 'Science, Technology, and Society Learning Space in Social Studies Achievement Test' were used. The data obtained from the measurement tools were analysed using frequency (f), percentage (%), and various Non-Parametric tests. Based on the findings, it was concluded that the use of cartoon-supported problem-based learning method in teaching fourth-grade Social Studies course positively affected the students' perceptions of their levels of problem-solving skills, their attitudes to the social studies course and their level of achievement.
