The study of attractiveness and perception of leadership style is in its basic research stage - building awareness and knowledge. The purpose of this study is to compare Transformational, Transactional, and Passive Avoidant leadership ratings of attractive and unattractive leaders and to examine how the demographics of viewers may influence their ratings of leadership.This quasi-experimental study asked university students to rate perception of leadership style after reviewing a resume with a picture of an attractive or unattractive leader then using the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire rate the perception of leadership.This study found that attractiveness impacted Passive Avoidant ratings where the attractive leader was rated more Passive Avoidant.
