Insider threat is a current and growing topic within society today. Questions of what types of activities are exactly covered within insider threats, who is defined as an actor, and why are they important, are being discussed within organizational walls and amongst communities yearning to understand more about them. These questions are among a few which will be answered throughout this research. Upon defining insider threats, more specific questions will be answered relating to whether these threats can be stopped from happening and how, and most importantly addressing what is standing at the very middle of these types of threats. Human beings have been in the epicenter of almost everything within the current world of today. They have been responsible for construction of vast technological advances, and also the destruction of entire civilizations. This research will be focusing on explaining how human beings stand at the center of insider threats. Not only simply being in the center but being the root cause of these types of threats. In understanding what these threats are, the answers in how to detect them, respond to them, and overall stop them will also be explained as a concept which can be adopted and used by organizations interested in understanding how to build a complete model of an insider threat program with the necessary components within it to manage and potentially stop insider threats."The most important thing in changing human behavior is the persons' motivation"- Milton H. Erickson.
