Adult second-language learners are a growing population of students in many countries throughout the world as the global community continues to expand beyond not only physical borders, but cultural and language borders as well. 200 expatriates, who lived in Denmark during the time span of 2006-2016, who were required to show proficiency in their acquisition of the Danish language, and who had participated in the Danish language courses provided by LaerDansk, were sent a data collection survey designed to give the researcher demographic information about each of them. The survey collected their scores on Prove 2/3, the Danish language exam, and their overall levels of satisfaction regarding their experience in learning the language and preparing for exams. 105 of the 200 expatriates responded to the survey, and their responses created the data set for this study. Twenty-seven different nationalities and sixteen different languages were represented in the data set, along with an overall age range of 18 to 49 years old. Within the 105 participants, they had expatriated to Denmark for either family reunification, to continue their studies, in connection with a work-related move, or other reasons, not specified by the participants. Four different levels of formal education were answer choices on the survey instrument and distributed the participants in categories of a high school/upper secondary diploma, some college, a bachelor's degree, and graduate-level courses. The overwhelming majority of the 105 participants took their Danish language courses in a traditional, face-to-face environment, while smaller groups learned either solely online or hybrid blend of the two. A one-way ANOVA between subjects was conducted to compare the effects of participant age, native language, level of formal education, reason for expatriation, and format of Danish language courses on the participants' scores on the reading, writing, speaking, and listening exams.
