Immersive exhibitions are a new and specialized exhibition genre that integrates audiences in three-dimensional reconstructed space to enjoy artworks and feel the illusion of space, time, and environment. Today, with the development of technology, new types of exhibitions are emerging and being introduced to a variety of audiences. However, many professionals and artists still criticize immersive exhibitions and claim that they will have negative impacts on people's experience and perception of art. This paper refutes this argument and argues that immersive exhibitions will become more prevalent than conventional exhibitions in the future because they engage all the five senses of the audience, enable interactions between visitors and artworks, integrate advanced technology to serve various objectives, provide people with more opportunities to experience artworks through new devices anytime and anywhere. In the future, immersive exhibitions will push the boundaries of what art can be by entering and cooperating with new sectors and industries such as education, science, history and cultural research and study, and so on.
