The report The acquisition of mathematical skills through collaborative work from the educator's perspective in the area of mathematics in the private sector, presents a historical review of collaborative learning, and the impact it has had on the lives of students in the specific area of mathematics. The teacher's perspective has been taken into account, and how the teacher involved students in collaborative activities while solving mathematical problems. This research was based on theories of social interdependence. This qualitative research presents results that focus on the importance of collaborative learning in private schools in the areas of mathematics education in a Latin American country. Students of the XXI century will face new demands in different mathematical fields. It should be a priority of all mathematics teachers to teach their students to work collaboratively, and not only to work collaboratively, but also to think mathematically. The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of collaborative learning in teaching mathematics from the perspective of educators. Three themes were used to organize the literature reviewed in the report: (a) Cooperative learning; (b) Mathematics skill development in a bilingual environment; and (c) Strategies and games to promote English language learning in a cooperative learning classroom. In conclusion, this action research has shown that cooperative groups have helped to improve Mathematics learning.
