My overarching research interest explores the interrelationship of humans and non-humans at the coastline and the possibility of coexistence between human and marine life in the coastal environment. In recent years, with the increase in sea level and temperature, the directions of ocean currents and regional currents have changed, and the routes and areas of marine life migration and habitats have also changed. Human activity at the coastlines has had an impact on marine biodiversity and creating uninhabitable coastlines for marine lives. Shellfish and the marine life at the bottom of the food chain are the most severely affected, which in turn affects the entire marine ecological food chain. This project attempts to establish an ecological mechanism and system to increase marine biodiversity, to help some of the sea creatures on the verge of extinction, and at the same time to build the dialogue between people and the sea. Through the architectural design strategy, by cutting into the seawall to create more intertidal zones and provide a porous and bio-friendly interface for marine life. The main programs of this project include protected areas, fishing grounds, nurseries, and wetlands for research, education and leisure purposes.
