An increase in the attendance of college students with disabilities in postsecondary education has led a need to increase the academic success of this population. The lack of academic success has been linked to barriers faced by college students with disabilities that include lack of self-advocacy, inclusive instructional practices, and the attitudes of teachers about disabilities and accommodations. This qualitative phenomenological study will seek to understand the experience of college students with disabilities and their experiences with using technology to support their academic success in terms of passing grades and successful matriculation. A purposeful sampling of students enrolled at a local college with disability classifications of learning disability and intellectual disability will be included in the study. Data will be collected through semi-structured interviews and a focus group. Data processing will take place using the Coding Analysis Toolkit (CAT), a web-based computer assisted qualitative data analysis software that codes and analyzes transcripts. The analysis of the data will answer the research questions.
