The purpose of this research study examined mentoring relationships and career advancement for individuals with blindness and visual impairments (B/VI) and explored career development attributes. The sample group consisted of 198 blind and visually impaired individuals with varying ages, educational attainment, industries, and employment statuses. The study results determined if individuals currently had a mentor relationship, they believed there was an opportunity for career advancement. Honesty and having a blind mentor were identified as key contributors to the participants' career development. In contrast, the mentoring relationship's most significant aspect for career advancement yielding the mentor giving advice or information to accomplish said goals.
