The topic is how Vietnam veterans have thrived during and after the war. The methodology used is generic qualitative achieved through investigations of the participants' attitudes and beliefs toward the research question. The research methodology explored what happened to Vietnam veterans and the external content or external factors that may have triggered the cognitive process. The population was Vietnam veterans who served in active duty and experienced combat. The sample size comprised eight participants who served in active duty in Vietnam during the war, who experienced combat, and who considered themselves to be thriving in today's time. Due to the versatility, thematic analysis was used. The goal was to identify themes that the participants used to describe the experience of thriving after the Vietnam War. The study found that work, family, being active, brotherhood, and getting help were key contributors to thriving after the Vietnam War. The participants also felt that the least helpful things were the government, certain relationships, and certain mental health issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression.
