The overall purpose of this film is to break the Russian stereotype by exploring the lives of Afro-Russians. When people think of Russians, they often think of people with blonde hair, fair skin, and blue eyes. This is not true and will never be true. Russians come in different colors, shapes, and sizes; and Victoria's goal as a foreign film director is to shed light on specifically Afro-Russians and the struggles they endure due to their skin color. Afro-Russians are people of African descent or individuals that are darker skinned. In fact, Afro-Russians are considered Russian and have fought to be accepted for over 100 years. Currently, there are over 70,000 Afro-Russians living in Russia.Furthermore, this documentary will explain in depth the lives and stories of Afro- Russians and how they've fought to be accepted in Russian society. God called Victoria to direct this film because the two nations, America and Russia, are very divided at the moment and have been for many years. As a foreign film director, Victoria wants to bring the two countries together by educating the western world about Russia. She strives to show a different side of Russia that people have never seen before. More importantly, her goal is to show that "Stereotypes are just stereotypes" and her team is on a journey to break them.
