American Academy of Pediatrics' (AAP) current guidelines urges parents to perform Tummy Time (TT) when the infant is awake, on a solid surface and to perform regularly. The present study aimed to determine the feasibility of different durations of TT and its effects on gross motor milestones (roll supine to prone and independent sitting). A total of 10 infants (4-female, 6-male/ start age M = 60.1 days) were randomly assigned to one of three groups: 0- 30 min/day, 31- 60 min/day, and 61+ min/day of TT. Parents then recorded accumulated TT in a handwritten log, downloaded an application to their smartphone or a combination of both. Infants completed the intervention once the independent sitting milestone was achieved (M = 182.20 days old). The average time infants participated in the study was 148.10 days. When the different prescribed TT was taken into account, the 60+ group participated the most in daily TT overall while participating 96.36% of days in the intervention while the 30 minute group participated 65.5% of days in the intervention and the 60 minute group participated 67.83% of days in the intervention. The remaining percent of the intervention was missing days of no TT practiced at all. The average daily TT minutes per group were 17.4 minutes (SD = 8.85) in the 0- 30 min/day group, 88.67 minutes (SD = 66.05) in 31- 60 min/day group, and 73.85 minutes (SD = 29.76) in 61+ min/day group. Despite the significant difference in the amount in daily duration and percentage of completed days, there was no significant difference in either the onset of the rolling milestone or the independent sitting milestone.
