This thesis is a collection of academic and professional work created during the two years in the professional writing program. All the examples of my work in this piece are accompanied by critical introductions that summarize the context and insights I gained during their creation. The project is divided into four sections: a critical introduction to the portfolio, digital media content, scholarly work, and a teaching portfolio. A critical introduction to the entire portfolio outlines the purpose and logic of the project. Three pieces of digital media content I created as a journalist intern and Rougarou blog editor are contained in the second section. My Global South Conference Abstract, two information design visuals, and a media critique piece I am working on for publication all make up the third section of the portfolio. The fourth and final section is a larger philosophy on education that connects my examples of teaching documents to greater abstract thoughts. Overall, the goal of the portfolio is to provide a multipurpose document that bridges the original purpose of this document and its future purposes: earn approval to meet the qualifications to confer my master's degree and utilize these examples for future job applications.
