Within the Christina School District, the English Learner population continues to increase each year. The Christina School District's English Learner program has a manual that is shared only with administrators and English as a Second Language teachers. At the time of this research, there is little to no professional development available for mainstream teachers. Since English Learners are with their mainstream teachers for most of the school day, it is important that these teachers have a firm understanding of the English as a Second Language program and best practices for working with our English Learners. This research looks at best practices for English Learners and appropriate andragogy for professional development with staff. Four webinars were created and shared on Schoology and will be accessible to teachers and staff in the Christina School District.
