Mental health stigma is a public health issue that adversely impacts an individual's overall well-being. Research has shown that providers who endorse stigmatizing views have the potential to hinder both an individual's treatment adherence and help-seeking behaviors. Research has shown education to be a useful tool to address mental health stigma and reduce potential stigma-endorsing behaviors. This research examined licensed clinical social workers' (LCSWs) general knowledge of mental health stigma and addressed discovered gaps by utilizing a mental health stigma curriculum. To answer the research questions, a mixed-method study utilizing a quantitative survey and an appreciative inquiry action research methodology was employed. The stakeholders for this study were LCSWs who provided mental health services to clients and have held their licenses for a minimum of two years. A total of 95 stakeholders participated in the study. The three instruments utilized allowed for triangulation of the data. The acquired data were coded, analyzed, and utilized to address the research questions. Research findings showed the data to be in alignment with the literature and supported the need to provide LCSWs with a stigma-specific curriculum that provides general knowledge. Recommendations for future research focused on mental health stigma-specific intervention and inclusion of mental health stigma curricula as a continuing education unit approved course for licensed clinical social workers. Data was shared back by creating and disseminating the mental health stigma curriculum through the [clinic's] website and encouraging interested stakeholders to send an email requesting a copy of the data upon approval of the completed project.
