This thesis covers my process of acting the role of Juror Number Three in Reginald Rose's Twelve Angry Men which was presented in the Studio Theatre at Regent University. The introduction covers a summary of my expectations for the production; the challenges I expected to experience in performing the role and my plan for addressing those challenges. Chapter One contains a summary of the research that I did on the play and to bolster my character work. Chapter Two covers my literary analysis of the play including a structural breakdown of the play and spine phrases for each of the main characters. Chapter Three covers my character analysis for Juror Three, including his spine phrase, an edited backstory, and my six sample beats. Chapter Four is a record of my rehearsal process and each performance; it covers any discoveries and new challenges I found during the process as well as the changes made to my sample beats. Chapter Five is a reflection on my work with this production, which also includes my plan for what I would do if I were to take on the role again and recommendations for future actors. This is followed by the Appendices which contain a rehearsal and performance schedule, the playbill, a list of my costume and prop items, my free associative writing, and other relevant information.
