Tesla turbomachinery offers a sturdy, easily manufacturable, extremely versatile prime mover with strong inherent capabilities that make it the best solution for many niche applications. The goal of this thesis is to simulate its performance with the exhaust gases of an engine using ANSYS Fluent and analyze its applications in the field of forced induction of internal combustion engines.Theoretical and numerical analyses of a turbine assembly with different number of plates and at different angular velocities using air as the working fluid were performed and presented in this report. A brief background and explanation of the technology is provided along with its potential application as a turbocharger of an IC engine.In this project, a bladeless Tesla turbine was designed and simulated with the specified boundary conditions using ANSYS Fluent on a supercomputer cluster running Linux CentOS, the efficiencies at different angular velocities were calculated, and results and graphs were plotted. Scope for future work on this design was discussed.
