We derive the non-linear Ginzburg-Landau equations for unconventional, two-component, superconductors that have a simple cubic crystalline structure. We define appropriate function spaces in which weak solutions of the Ginzburg-Landau equations for both conventional (one-component) and unconventional superconductors may exist. We give existence and uniqueness theorems for weak solutions in such spaces. We examine restrictions on physical parameters associated with both types of superconductors necessary for the existence of the solutions. The results shown here can be applied to all types of conventional superconductors and may be extended to superconducting materials with other crystalline structures.
