This study was conducted to identify predictors of student persistence in an online MBA program at a private, not-for-profit university in the Southeastern United States. The multiple linear regression analysis indicated five predictors: (a) student age at time of enrollment in the online MBA program, (b) GPA of the previous conferred degree, (c) elapsed time since previous conferred degree and enrollment in the online MBA program, (d) whether the student had a previous business degree, and (e) whether the student took MBA prerequisite courses. The sample consisted of 212 students who enrolled in the online MBA program from the years 2011 to 2015. The results showed that previous GPA was a strong predictor of student persistence to graduation. Age at the time of enrollment showed no statistical significance, but may have a strong influence on student persistence based on the p result (p = 0.068). The findings of this study are in alignment with previous studies on student persistence in on-ground courses and undergraduate online courses. The results of this study reinforce that previous GPA is a strong predictor of student persistence, regardless of program delivery and postsecondary educational level.
