Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) is a combination of hardwareand software elements that allow control of industrial process locally or remotely,monitor and process real-time data, directly interact with device elements in the plantand record events into a log file [1]. An alternate method for monitoring real-timedata is studied in this thesis, where Mixed Reality is used to see real-time data in thephysical world using a Mixed Reality Head-Mounted Device (HMD). Data from aSiemens PLC in the transmission line of Volvo Group Trucks North Americaproduction plant is used to demonstrate the monitoring of real-time data. VuforiaStudio is used to develop the digital graphics for the HMD. Kepware EX server andThingworx Cloud platform is used to store real-time data from the production plant.Real-time communication is established between Siemens PLC, Kepware EX andThingworx Cloud platform using Ethernet.
