Fraud has existed where there has been money to track since the days of Cicero and Julius Caesars. As technology has advanced, so has the types of fraud seen in today's society. This research was completed to illustrate the problems financial institutions are facing when attempting to stop fraudulent activities within the brick and mortar environment as well as the digital world. If banks can figure out how to adequately train their employees to detect fraud, clients will feel more secure with their institution, banks will decrease the losses they see annually to fraud and employees will feel empowered by recognizing fraud proactively.
