This quantitative correlational study was performed to examine the correlation between gratitude and job satisfaction in registered nurses between the ages of 18-65, working in the United States, and who were accessible by Qualtrics through online media. The research gap that motivated this study was there had been little research on gratitude in organizational settings. Three research questions examined if a statistically significant correlation existed between gratitude and general job satisfaction, intrinsic job satisfaction, and extrinsic job satisfaction. The researcher collected data using online surveys on the Qualtrics platform. Qualtrics recruited participants through research panels and disseminated the surveys. The researcher used convenience sampling to obtain 114 completed surveys. The theoretical foundation for this study was broaden-and-build theory. Surveys used in this study were the Gratitude Questionnaire Six (GQ-6) and the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ). The GQ-6 assessed gratitude and the MSQ assessed intrinsic, extrinsic, and general job satisfaction. The data were analyzed using the Spearman's Rank-Order Correlations analysis. The results showed there was not a statistically significant relationship between gratitude and general job satisfaction (r = . 217, p = .021). Results showed there was not a statistically significant relationship between gratitude and intrinsic job satisfaction (r = .197, p = .036). Results showed there was a statistically significant relationship between gratitude and extrinsic job satisfaction (r = .226, p = .015). The findings were inconclusive due to the GQ-6 having an unacceptable Cronbach's alpha of .51 and had a low reliability for this study. Keywords: gratitude, intrinsic job satisfaction, extrinsic job satisfaction, general job satisfaction, registered nurse, broaden-and-build theory.
