This body of research is composed of three independent parts. In the first part, which is the subject matter of chapter I, organocatalytic activity of oxadiazinones in chlorination reaction of hydrocinnamaldehyde was investigated. It was found that depending on the structure, oxadiazinones can efficiently catalyze chlorination of hydrocinnamaldehyde, although with poor enantioselectivity under the reaction conditions. Details of this investigation are reported in chapter I. Second part of the research was focused on synthesis of alpha amino acid based sulfInamides and their application as Lewis basic organocatalyst in allylation of hydrazones. Details of the investigation of allylation of isobutyraldehyde derived benzoylhydrazone using allyltrichlorosilane is reported in chapter II. Finally in chapter III which describes the third part of the research, development of a method suitable for high throughput synthesis of sulfinate esters via an O-acylisourea intermediate is reported.
