This study is influenced by previous studies conducted on online dating and traditional, face-to-face dating. Previous studies look in depth into online dating, but not much research has been conducted comparing online dating to traditional, face to face dating. The purpose of this study is to examine the realm of current dating to see if changes have occurred from traditional dating. This study examined a variety of people to see how they currently date, online or face to face and whether or not the attributes, traits, or preferences that they seek in a potential dating partner are different from traditional dating. It is hypothesized that the main attributes that are sought after in a romantic partner in traditional dating will be different than the attributes that online daters seek in a romantic partner. Survey research was conducted and then analyzed to gather the needed information.
