How do remote employees' personalities affect their job satisfaction? The researcher in this study measured job satisfaction, remote work, coworking with a moderator of extraversion to answer this question. Global job satisfaction was used to measure satisfaction among remote workers. Coworking was measured by frequency of reported time spent in formal and informal working environments. A variation of the Big Five personality test was used to determine extraversion. In this correlational study, an online survey was used. Participants included anyone who worked full time, was at least 18 years of age, and telecommuted on average 80% of the time. Job satisfaction was correlated with extraversion, age, and tenure. The degree of remote work and tenure also correlated with age. Results indicate the moderator of extraversion among remote workers' job satisfaction and time spent in coworking environments had near significance. The researcher suggests organizations implement improved hiring practices for remote workers, measuring potential employees' personality and intentional interview questions about work-life balance.
