By reducing the real estate commitment and expense involved in setting up a woodworking shop in a traditional building, the transportable woodshop used for Moving Parts, applies ideas from The Tiny House Movement to my work space, reducing the overhead costs of operating a furniture business and adding mobility that allows me to bring my workspace to various locations, including the site of a client's home. My thesis was an experiment in using this approach to develop a line of furniture that can be built solely out of the trailer, and a method for working that can bring the intimacy of handcrafted objects into more homes.
