The purpose of this study was to see what was the influence of augmented reality (AR) on the child - parent relationship. The leading question when it comes to any kind of technology is often concerned with how we will use it and what it will do to us as a society. AR is a technology that is becoming more available in our lives, what will the impact on us be socially? How do parents feel about their children using technology? Is it harming the relationship between parent and child? Technology is no longer a simple convenience, it is essential to our way of life. How do parents use technology with their children? Three child-parent dyads were interviewed and observed while playing the augmented reality game, Pokemon Go. The results of the current study have yielded new dimensions to the understanding of the field of technology and child development. What we currently know about technology and the child-parent relationship has been given a new lens to peer through.
