Principals of sustainability are becoming more mainstream. More people are using renewable energy and constructing home gardens to help ameliorate energy and food costs. Permaculture is seen as an eco-friendly solution to improve food security in communities are both economically viable for cities and suburbs. Renewable energy systems and regional food systems such as food hubs are vital to improve food security. Collegially, this will lower energy costs, enhance food security, and improve access and availability of local farm fresh foods for consumers.
