Evidence from this research affirms that anti-bullying programs would be beneficial for the elementary level in the state of Georgia. A major influencing factor for the need of anti-bullying programs stems from bullying circumstances that are not addressed or resolved. For example, a fifth grade student in a Georgia school committed suicide as a result of being bullied at school. While the study does not imply that suicide on the elementary school level is on the rise, literature suggest that bullying incidents in schools are often undocumented or not properly addressed. Concerns also avail as I learned that teachers are not as familiar with the revised laws in relation to elementary school bullying. The revised law can potentially impact the decrease of bullying on the elementary school level, if utilized properly. Facilitating congruency is essential to bridging critical issues in preventing bullying while providing intervention strategies. Educators and policy makers should continue to collaborate in various ways to develop impervious school environments. The purpose of this study is to elicit insights into contextually appropriate practices that impact an anti-bullying law established for elementary schools in the state of Georgia. The study involves the collection of qualitative data including teachers from the Atlanta-metro area. Results of this study indicate that training teachers on the revised law would strengthen their knowledge base and allow them to better execute the anti-bullying law while providing a positive impact in the school setting.
