This study examined the relationship between the constructs of spiritual intelligence (SI), emotional intelligence (EI), employee engagement (EE), and employee burnout (EB). Specifically, five relationships were examined: (a) the relationship between SI and EI, (b) the relationship between EI and EE, (c) the relationship between EI and EB, (d) the relationship between SI and EE (after controlling for EI), and (e) the relationship between SI and EB (after controlling for EI). The sample consisted of 163 individuals employed full time and working under the same supervisor for at least the last six consecutive months. The results of this study found a positive correlation between SI and EI. The results of this study did not support the relationship between EI and EB. SI did not account for significant variance in EE beyond EI after controlling for EI. However, the results do indicate that SI makes a significant contribution above EI in the prediction of EB.
