This quasi-experimental study investigated the impact of a learning style intervention on persistence and success of low-income and first-generation college students enrolled in online courses. With the continuing rise of online education, there is potential for both promise and problems within higher academia. The TRiO Student Support Services program at a four-year, mid-size public university was the location and focus of this study. The Kolb Learning Style Inventory was utilized to determine learning style preferences. The results in this study indicated there were statistically significant findings on the perceptions of the TRiO SSS counseling learning style intervention, although, there were no impacts on GPA and persistence.
